Ted Danson.

Have I told you about my brother?

This kid. This kid. What can you say about your own blood? He's hilarious. He's talented. And he lives with a music producer.

So what happens when you mix my talented, hilarious, and easily amused brother with a talented and easily amused music producer, an extremely late night, and Wilmer Valderrama's MTV show called "Yo Mama?"

You get the most brilliant hip-hop parody since "Weird" Al Yankovic decided to piss off Coolio.

Ladies and gentlemen.......... "Close It Like a Bookshelf."

I couldn't be more proud.

God damn it, Diddy.

How can you possibly take this guy seriously as an artist?

Looking at him, you can't. Listening to him talk, you can't. He's pretty much a guy with a lot of money who throws ridiculous parties and oh yeah he's got something to do with hip hop... but I can't really remember what... wasn't he friends with... B.I.G.?

The main reason that I could never take him seriously is because he commercialized absolutely everything in an EVERYTHING MUST GO kind of way. Jay-Z did the clothes and the shoes and everything, but he still kind of maintained a sleek, cool, businessman image. Diddy (if that's what the kids are calling him these days) just seemed to throw his name on everything he could, in a desperate attention-grabbing sort of way. I guess I just don't see people like that very concerned about their art.

After the desecration of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir," the horrifically misguided "Come With Me," I realized that I would never again put any sort of artistic faith in Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy, Sean Combs, what have you.

Then I got wind of "Press Play."

God, really? I thought. I then realized that I couldn't remember the last time he actually released an album or did a tour or did anything that was even related to his music career (or anything that didn't involve making an ass out of himself on MTV).

Once the offer was on the table about actually taking a chance to listen to the album, I'd become maddeningly intrigued. So, today, Sunday the 15th of October, 2006, I sat down and listened to the whole album. Ladies and gentlemen, the verdict is in.

The album surprised me. It didn't suck. It's not worth four stars or anything, but hey, it DOESN'T SUCK. For real. I would call it... a valiant attempt at an actual music career by a hip-hop mogul who has lost touch with his craft.

The thing that makes the album, sadly, is the guest appearances by some of the fucking coolest people in current popular music. Cee-Lo is riding his wave of fame from Gnarles Barkley, Christina Aguilera is on top of the world (again), Timbaland is all over the place, I heard Nas is recording again... Big Boi is just fucking sweet....

This makes me want to hope for an even better attempt next time around. I'll give it an A for effort.

Curious?

Everything I Love (feat. Cee-Lo & Nas)

You don't have to tell anyone you're listening to it.

Music, deux.

Part One:

I woke up this morning to this email:

This is difficult.

Yes, I know, I know it's not the same GNR. I know it's probably going to be one big celebration of what an ass Axl is. I know that the chances of a surprise appearance by Slash are slim.

But I am a twenty one year old girl. I missed GNR when they were in their prime and, let's face it, awesome, because they certainly cannot be as awesome as they were. The fact is that I was merely a fresh-faced babe of eleven when Slash officially officially quit. This may be my only chance to experience some semblance of GNR.

Plus, what if "Chinese Democracy" actually gets released? The opportunity to see that shit live? Man.

Part Two:

I snagged Diddy's new album. It doesn't matter how. The fact of the matter is that I have an album by Diddy, and I am intrigued. Did you see the list of guest artists? Big Boi. Cee-Lo. Nas. Christina. Mary. Timbaland. Awesome. Expect a full review by the end of the weekend.

Jesus, I have a Diddy album.

Bitch, please.

Do you ever go back in time?

Do you ever realize that you are living exactly the way you did at another time in your life? Yes, you are in a different house with different friends and a different job and different circumstances, but you have regressed about two years.

That's me. I'm doing dumb things for dumb reasons because of people I cannot get enough of and problems I don't know how to deal with.

Who needs to smoke pot at nine in the morning? I do, with a friend who is trying to pay me back for something nice I did for him. Why? Because... well, why not? Except it doesn't get me high, it makes me angry. I come home angry, I deal with situations as if I'm angry, and then I'm angry for the rest of the day.

Who deals with their issues by getting hammered every night for a week? I do, because I think it'll take my mind off of things... because you think that your problems will go away with just one more white russian.. just one more beer... no, I'm cool, just give me another martini, guys. I'll get happy after this one, I promise.

Yes, this is all true.

I am an adult. It's time I started acting like one.

I say, "Right on."

According to HPDmagazine, this is who I am:

"You are the pioneer type and think you are cooler and know more than anyone else. You are quick to repimand, impatient, and scornful of advice. You frequently piss people off with your condenscending attitude. You are impulsive and lack any concept of tact. Many Aries people are sadists."

Agree/disagree?

and it stings.

I really like the song "When You Were Young" by the Killers.
